Rockin' Weekend

Bad Ass
Kala had the boys this weekend, so it was par-tay time around here!  The place jumped like Mexican jumping beans on cocaine.

It started off with an extra-long day at work, when I got sucked into an after-hours meeting about a student.  Got home just in time to see the boys off to their mother's so I could order take-out sushi, which I ate while watching HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA on DVD.  You could tell it was wild times because the sushi included a caterpillar roll.

Saturday I made myself a huge breakfast and then dug into the taxes.  Collated and totaled receipts for my accountant while I watched my way through several saved shows on the DVR.  (ARROW, by the way, is going seriously downhill.)  Every year I swear I'll figure out how to do a spreadsheet for this and enter things as I go, but I can never find the time.  This year, however, it occurred to me there must be apps for this kind of thing.  A bit of searching turned up several. Ah ha!  Next year I will PWN those receipts!

And then it was writing.  Restructured one chapter of the work in progress, finished a second, started a third.  The walls were shakin'.

My brain was melting by seven or so.  The freezing, nasty weather made me think twice about going somewhere for dinner, but an inner voice said "GET OUT!" so I left the house.  I've been meaning to try a Mexican restaurant just up the road, so I decided tonight was the night.  When I arrived, I discovered the restaurant was actually Italian.  Well, viva Italia!

I wanted MEAT, so I ordered a steak smothered in Marsala mushroom sauce.  On a go-to-hell whim, I even ordered a glass of wine. The party never stops around here!

Back home it was more writing until bedtime.

Sunday was grocery shopping and laundry.  We rocked that washing machine!  And I called my mother.  Yeah, baby!

We totally owned that weekend!

When I woke up, I wanted pancakes. The hubby was about to leave for the day. I am seriously tempted to check if the restaurant downtown serves pancakes at 3:30 in the afternoon.
