Insomnia Continues

  • Aug. 28th, 2008 at 4:52 PM
Noooo
Couldn't sleep last night, either, even when I used a sleeping aid.  I'm bleary and half-blind today, and my voice is hoarse.  I haven't slept in something like four days now.

What did you use? OTC sleep aids are useless for serious insomnia. Have you tried ambien? In a pinch, I've found vicodin sometimes works...if you had any on hand...maybe? If you don't sleep tonight, go see your doctor. I'm worried something is wrong with that migrainey brain of yours.

By the way, do you mean NO sleep. Zero? Not a wink? Or have you been taking catnaps? I ask not to question your honesty, but it just so happens that I had a conversation with a psychiatrist about this recently, and she said that after five days without sleep, people begin to hallucinate (and in a potentially dangerous way), so if this doesn't resolve tomorrow, you should definitely not go to work. If you've had little catnaps or short sleeps, you will feel like shit, but won't need a babysitter. (I would still see the doctor, though.)

I hope you can get to sleep. I know how miserable you are!

I've been lying there awake at night, with maybe a small doze of ten minutes here and there. I total maybe an hour of light sleep the entire night, even when I took a trazodone tablet. I've been getting enough dream-time in that I'm not in danger of hallucination, at least, but it's been horrible, and I can't track down a real cause.
